Our clinic at SIFA Fireside Birmingham provides accessible, welcoming eyecare for people experiencing homelessness. Delivered in a familiar and supportive environment, the service is designed to remove barriers and make it easier to access eye tests, glasses and follow-up care.
Based within SIFA Fireside’s day centre, the clinic supports people in a setting they already know and trust, making it easier to access care alongside other essential services.
Appointments can be booked online or by contacting the local team. Walk-ins may be available depending on capacity.
About the clinic
The SIFA Fireside Birmingham clinic operates in partnership with SIFA Fireside, supporting people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. By delivering eyecare within the day centre, we make it easier for people to access care in a place they already know and feel comfortable in.
Located in central Birmingham, SIFA Fireside provides a wide range of essential services including meals, housing advice and wellbeing support. This means people can access eyecare alongside other services that help address immediate needs and support longer-term stability.
Our clinics are designed to be calm, unhurried and flexible. We understand that traditional healthcare settings can feel inaccessible or overwhelming, so we focus on creating a welcoming environment where people can receive the care they need without unnecessary barriers.
We provide eye tests, glasses and onward referrals where needed, helping people improve their vision, confidence and overall wellbeing.

Lenses provided by Lenstec
We offer a free range of single vision, bifocal and varifocal lenses, with a variety of coating and lens options available, including thinner lens variations.
All lenses are kindly supplied and glazed by Lenstec (part of Essilor).
Accurate measurement and diagnosis
With tools including tonometry and automated refraction, we are able to measure eye pressure and determine prescriptions efficiently, supporting accurate and reliable care.
